Turning a large subject-specific content library into a structured learning and assessment experience
Atom Academy was created around Physics and Chemistry education for students in Saudi Arabia, with a strong focus on Tahsili exam preparation. The project therefore required much more than a collection of educational videos: students needed a clear journey from course discovery and enrollment to lessons, practice, testing and continued access to their learning content.
Course size added another layer of complexity. The current Chemistry Tahsili program contains 65 lectures covering multiple academic sections, with assessments positioned throughout the curriculum and comprehensive exams at the end. The platform needed a learning architecture capable of organizing this volume of material without making navigation difficult for students.
The ecosystem also combines recorded learning, live lessons, educational resources, quizzes, paid course enrollment, student accounts, instructor profiles and multi-device content access.
The Solution
A WordPress LMS architecture connecting course delivery, assessment and user management
MasterStudy LMS was used as the foundation of the learning environment, combined with Blocksy and Elementor to build the public-facing website and course experience.
Individual courses are structured into sections containing lessons and assessments, creating a progressive curriculum rather than a simple video library. The Chemistry program demonstrates this clearly, with subject sections followed by dedicated tests and larger comprehensive examinations.
Quiz Maker and its user-dashboard component extend the assessment layer, supporting the platform's learning model where testing and practice are integrated throughout the educational journey rather than treated as an optional extra.
Course pages provide structured information including instructor, curriculum, lesson count, pricing, reviews, wishlist functionality and enrollment, while separate assessment products allow students to access comprehensive exam practice independently.
The LMS also includes public instructor profiles. The current instructor profile connects the teacher with his available courses, reviews and direct messaging functionality, giving instructors a defined presence within the platform rather than limiting them to course metadata.
User registration, authentication and password recovery are integrated into the learning experience, while protected course resources are restricted to enrolled students.
Dark Mode was incorporated into the interface for a more flexible learning experience, while LiteSpeed Cache supported website performance and Rank Math handled the SEO management layer.
The website also connects learners to dedicated applications for consuming educational content across iOS, Android and Windows. The associated mobile experience includes structured lessons, post-lesson quizzes and learning-progress tracking, extending the overall academy experience beyond the website itself.
