I approached ATHAR as a complete digital brand experience rather than a typical WordPress store development project.Building the Brand IdentityThe process began with establishing ATHAR's visual direction and defining how the brand could express its Egyptian roots through a contemporary design language.I developed a visual identity centered on a dark color palette, gold accents, Arabic typography, and carefully selected elements inspired by ancient Egyptian art and symbolism. The contrast between deep backgrounds and warm gold details became a defining part of the brand, creating a consistent visual atmosphere across the website, collection presentations, and product imagery.Rather than relying on historical decoration alone, the design focused on combining Egyptian heritage with modern streetwear aesthetics.UI/UX Design and Website PrototypingOnce the visual identity was established, I moved into the user interface and user experience design process.I first created a website concept in Framer to explore page layouts, visual hierarchy, typography, and the overall shopping journey before moving into WordPress development. The homepage was designed around a collection-focused hero slider, with each slide introducing one of ATHAR's three collections through distinctive imagery and storytelling.Supporting sections were structured to guide visitors naturally from discovering the brand to exploring collections, browsing products, and making a purchase.I also designed dedicated layouts for collection pages, individual products, the About page, contact forms, and supporting store information. The goal was to maintain a premium visual identity without compromising usability or making the shopping experience unnecessarily complicated.Custom WordPress and WooCommerce DevelopmentAfter finalizing the design direction, I developed the website using WordPress and WooCommerce.I selected the WoodMart theme for its e-commerce functionality, but did not import or use any pre-built demo layout. Instead, I built and customized the website around ATHAR's original visual identity and UI/UX design.Using Elementor Pro, I created customized page layouts while maintaining consistency in typography, spacing, colors, components, and responsive behavior.WooCommerce provided the foundation for the store's product catalog, shopping cart, and checkout functionality. The development process focused on creating a cohesive storefront where the design, product information, and shopping functionality worked together.Product Experience and Collection StructureOne of the most important parts of the project was organizing ATHAR's product catalog around the stories behind its collections.I structured the store into three primary collections: Signature, Legacy, and The Path. Each hoodie color was created as an individual product, with its own product title, description, SKU, color information, and visual presentation.I also prepared consistent product mockups, combining front and back views with additional product images from different angles.Product pages were designed to highlight the distinctive artwork, provide clear product information, support size selection, and guide customers toward purchasing.Beyond visual presentation, I wrote collection-specific product descriptions that communicate each design's meaning, helping customers connect with the brand rather than simply comparing products.Store Functionality and Technical SetupTo complete the shopping experience, I configured the essential features required for a functional WooCommerce store. These included product organization, shopping cart and checkout functionality, customer contact forms, FAQ content, and essential store policy pages.I used Contact Form 7 for customer inquiries, Bot for Telegram on WooCommerce to support order-related notifications, and LiteSpeed Cache for caching and performance management. The website was also developed with responsive layouts and a structured content hierarchy to support usability across devices. The Final OutcomeThe result is a complete fashion e-commerce website that brings together Egyptian-inspired branding, contemporary UI/UX design, and WordPress development.ATHAR now has a distinctive online storefront built around three recognizable collections, consistent product presentation, and a shopping experience that reflects the brand's identity. For me, this project represents the full scope of my work: transforming an initial business idea into a cohesive visual identity, designing the customer experience, and developing the final website. From brand concept to published WooCommerce store, every stage was designed to support ATHAR's identity and create a foundation for future growth.Explore more of my WordPress and e-commerce development projects, or discuss your website project with me on WhatsApp.
